As the Director of UX and Design at Lokalise, you will lead our design and user experience initiatives, championing a user-centered design philosophy that supports our product-led growth (PLG) strategy. Lokalise is recognized as a company with the best user experience in our industry. Yet, as the number of self-serve customers grows, we need to ensure our design is more intuitive, playful, and engaging. Your primary mission will be to understand our users deeply, leveraging insights from UX, human-computer interaction, and the broader field of psychology to drive design decisions that increase ease of use, enhance user satisfaction, and fuel overall business growth.
This is a full-time, remote role that requires a visionary leader with a passion for creating compelling, user-friendly designs and a proven track record in a PLG company environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead Design Strategy: develop and execute a cohesive design and UX strategy that aligns with our product-led growth goals, emphasizing user engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
- Champion User-Centered Design: foster a culture that places user needs and experiences at the forefront of product development, leveraging UX/HCI principles and psychology to inform design decisions.
- Collaborate Across Teams: work closely with product, engineering, and growth teams to ensure that design and UX principles are integrated into all stages of product development and growth initiatives.
- Drive Innovation: identify and implement innovative design and UX practices that enhance user experience and contribute to product differentiation and competitiveness.
- Build and Mentor: lead, inspire, and mentor a team of UX/UI designers and UX researchers, establishing a collaborative, high-performing team environment focused on excellence and continuous improvement.
- Advocate for Users: serve as the primary advocate for the user experience, ensuring that user feedback and research are integral to the product design process.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, HCI, Psychology, or a related field, with a strong emphasis on UX and user-centered design.
- Extensive leadership experience in design and UX, particularly in a product-led growth company, with a deep understanding of how design impacts growth and user engagement.
- A proven track record of successful collaboration with growth teams and integrating UX design into growth strategies.
- Expertise in modern design tools and technologies, with a keen eye for aesthetic and functional design.
- Strong understanding of UX research methods and how to apply insights from psychology and HCI to design strategies.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating design visions and strategies across different levels of the organization.
