World Interaction Design Day 2021

World Interaction Design Day 2021 (IxDD 2021) is an annual event where we come together as a united global community to show how interaction design improves the human condition. Our aim is to have a positive, long-lasting impact by facilitating activities that support dialogue and outcomes. This year’s edition of IxDD will continue to be primarily a digital-first experience. We’ll come together, but apart, through regional live stream events from around the world.

What is World Interaction Design Day?

World Interaction Design Day is a global celebration of interaction design’s impact on improving the human condition. Presented in partnership by Adobe and the Interaction Design Association, events will take place in communities across the world on September 28, 2021. This includes presentations, workshops, and design showcases focused on elevating the work of interaction designers, and knowledge sharing.

What is this year’s theme?

This year’s IxDD theme is Solidarity and Transformation.

The events of the past year opened the doors for interaction design to change how we work, connect and live. For World Interaction Design Day 2021 we’ll explore how designers help us to adapt to a changing world, understand new ideas and find ways to thrive despite the challenges.

Who is this day for?

World Interaction Design Day is first-and-foremost for interaction designers. Events will focus on the practice of creating interactive digital products, environments, and services. If you’re not an interaction designer, you’re still very welcome to attend an event. Developers, academics, students, and designers from other disciplines will certainly find many of our events interesting and empowering.
