CHI 2025, the premier annual academic conference on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), is coming to Asia from April 26 – May 1, 2025, at the Pacifico Yokohama in Japan.
This conference centers around the theme of “Ikigai 生き甲斐,” a Japanese concept that embodies one’s reason for being or sense of purpose. In today’s world, individuals are navigating a myriad of challenges including climate change, increasing inequality, technological disruptions, global conflicts, and health crises. Ikigai addresses the importance of finding one’s purpose and achieving a harmonious balance between personal agency, passion, capabilities, and the impact they can make.
The event will feature a range of activities including paper presentations, case studies, courses, workshops, panels, a video showcase, and competitions spread across six days. For those unable to attend in person, remote participation options will also be available.
