Associate Product Design

As a Associate Product Designer, you will be responsible for understanding the needs of our Salesforce.com users and translating those needs into product experiences that engage our members and competitively differentiate American Express’ digital experiences. As a full stack product designer, you will deliver high quality research and design throughout the entire product development lifecycle alongside cross-functional teams.

You will be a key member of the centralized Product Design team supporting EPSAM and will collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver user research insights, lo-fi concepts through high fidelity prototypes, and UX roadmaps to drive product strategy, products, and features from concept to launch in a fast-paced environment. You will contribute to implementing UX principles and educating the EPSAM organization on design principles.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research sessions, translating user needs into insights to influence product strategy
  • Build detailed wireframes, information architecture diagrams, mental models, personas, usability testing stimulus, site maps, story boards, user flows and high / low fidelity prototypes along with a wide range of UX assets and results
  • Interact with users to identify needs, opportunities, gaps, and tackle problems
  • Deliver just in time design work for sprint cycles while improving the quality and experience of Salesforce.com products and overall platform
  • Contribute to UX projects through all phases of product development cycle, ship, and iteration
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams, product marketing, and project management to define a product vision and strategy that is aligned with the high-level product roadmap
  • Support reporting activities associated with usability metrics and user satisfaction

 

 

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in User Experience, Interaction / Product Design
  • Strong portfolio showing examples of complex design challenges highlighting your end-to-end design process from concept through delivery and iterative releases
  • Experience with designing user journeys, identifying difficulties, and designing solutions to tackle user problems
  • Proficiency in industry standard tools including Sketch, InVision, Abstract, Figma, and virtual whiteboarding like Mural or Miro
  • Ability to simplify and turn complex interactions into intuitive user experiences that align to business goals
  • Understanding of the various qualitative user experience methods and tools (e.g., usability testing, remote testing)
  • Experience participating in workshops on topics such as design thinking, rapid prototyping, and insight/journey mapping
  • Comfortable working in cross-functional, distributed teams in a matrixed environment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment
  • High degree of organization, individual initiative and personal accountability
  • Experience designing for internal or enterprise users, or with Salesforce.com platform design, is preferred
  • Degree in Computer Science, Interaction Design, Human Computer Interaction or related field, or equivalent preferred

 

 

Salary Range: $60,000.00 to $110,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
